چکیده

Biochemical and transcriptional approaches can provide crucial evidence about the physiological changes which occur in organic conventional cultivated common orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck]. This study aimed to investigate change physicochemical parameters, concentrations of free amino acids other N-containing compounds, expressions key genes coding for enzymes linked N assimilation fruits cv. "Valencia Late". Two involved different ways were considered: nitrate reductase (NR), catalyzing conversion into nitrite, glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), operating ammonium (interacting with synthase), re-assimilation through deamination. Results showed that fertilizers did not affect characteristics but induced accumulation acids, higher proline contemporarily lower glutamate, addition upregulated expression GDH gene from organically managed tress. identified a possible adaptive response plants or fertilizers. The present work is intended as first step make mechanisms underlying plant responses supply clearer by comparing cultivation. It also support breeders select best citrus cultivars agronomists improve crop fertilization production management.

Decreased expression of genes involved in sulfur amino acid metabolism in frataxin-deficient cells.

Inherited deficiency of the mitochondrial protein frataxin causes neural and cardiac cell degeneration, and Friedreich's ataxia. Five hypotheses for frataxin's mitochondrial function have been generated, largely from work in non-human cells: iron transporter, iron-sulfur cluster assembler, iron-storage protein, antioxidant and stimulator of oxidative phosphorylation. We analyzed gene expression...

Phytoplankton Community Composition and Gene Expression of Functional Genes Involved in Carbon and Nitrogen Assimilation(1).

A functional gene microarray was developed and used to investigate phytoplankton community composition and gene expression in the English Channel. Genes encoding the CO2 -fixation enzyme RUBISCO (rbcL) and the nitrate assimilation enzyme nitrate reductase (NR) representing several major groups of phytoplankton were included as oligonucleotide probes on the "phytoarray." Five major groups of euk...

Ammonium assimilation and amino acid metabolism in conifers.

Conifers are the most important group of gymnosperms, which include tree species of great ecological and economic importance that dominate large ecosystems and play an essential role in global carbon fixation. Nitrogen (N) economy has a special importance in these woody plants that are able to cope with seasonal periods of growth and development over a large number of years. As N availability i...

Changes in Free Amino Acid Concentration in Rye Grain in Response to Nitrogen and Sulfur Availability, and Expression Analysis of Genes Involved in Asparagine Metabolism

Free asparagine plays a central role in nitrogen storage and transport in many plant species due to its relatively high ratio of nitrogen to carbon. However, it is also a precursor for acrylamide, a Class 2a carcinogen that forms during high-temperature processing and cooking. The concentration of free asparagine was shown to increase by approximately 70% in rye grain in response to severe sulf...

Maternal Factors Are Associated with the Expression of Placental Genes Involved in Amino Acid Metabolism and Transport

INTRODUCTION Maternal environment and lifestyle factors may modify placental function to match the mother's capacity to support the demands of fetal growth. Much remains to be understood about maternal influences on placental metabolic and amino acid transporter gene expression. We investigated the influences of maternal lifestyle and body composition (e.g. fat and muscle content) on a selectio...
